Make these simple, decadent sugar cookie truffles using only four ingredients. This no-bake dessert comes together fast and is perfect for parties or quick sweet treats.
12 ounces white melting wafers or white chocolate chips
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother coating)
Instructions
Place the sugar cookies into a food processor. Pulse until the cookies form fine crumbs. If you do not have a food processor, place cookies in a large zip-top bag and crush them thoroughly with a rolling pin.
Transfer the cookie crumbs to a medium mixing bowl. Add the softened cream cheese. Mix with a sturdy spoon or clean hands until the mixture is completely combined and forms a thick dough.
Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chill the cookie balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm them up. This step prevents them from falling apart when dipping.
Melt the white chocolate or melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl according to package directions, stirring every 30 seconds. If using, stir in the coconut oil for a thinner consistency.
Dip each chilled truffle into the melted coating, ensuring it is fully covered. Use a fork to lift the truffle out, tapping the fork gently against the side of the bowl to remove excess coating.
Return the coated truffles to the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately decorate with festive sprinkles, if desired.
Allow the chocolate coating to set completely at room temperature, or speed up the process by chilling them for another 15 minutes.
Notes
For a different flavor, you can use chocolate or peanut butter flavored cookies instead of sugar cookies.
If the truffle dough feels too soft after mixing, chill it for 15 minutes before rolling.
Store leftover sugar cookie truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
