Make this refreshing, colorful winter fruit salad featuring seasonal citrus, apples, and pomegranate. It uses a bright honey-lime dressing with poppy seeds and comes together quickly for a healthy side or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large clementines, peeled and segmented
  • 2 crisp apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and diced
  • 1 ripe pear, cored and diced
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • For the Dressing:
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Peel and segment the clementines. Dice the apples and pear. Halve the grapes. Peel and slice the kiwis. Place all prepared fruit into a large bowl.
  2. Make the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the lime juice, honey, lime zest, poppy seeds, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Dress the salad: Pour the honey-lime dressing over the fruit mixture. Gently toss the fruit until everything is lightly coated.
  4. Chill (optional): For best flavor, cover the bowl and chill the winter fruit salad in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve: Serve this healthy fruit salad as a refreshing side dish or light dessert.

Notes

  • To keep the apples and pears from browning, toss them immediately with a splash of lemon juice before adding them to the main bowl.
  • This recipe is excellent for holiday gatherings; you can prepare the fruit ahead of time and store it separately from the dressing. Combine just before serving.
  • For a festive touch, garnish the final salad with a sprinkle of toasted, slivered almonds.
